Kierans Motors sponsors Drogheda Brass Band

Kierans Motors, Drogheda, has entered into an exciting new partnership with Drogheda Brass Band, just ahead of the band’s Summer Sounds concert on Sunday July 28th.

Tony Kierans, Dealer Principal, was a member of the band in the past and decided to give something back to the band, in order to help with ongoing costs such as energy, heat and insurance – as well as focusing on helping the band’s School of Music and youth section.

“We understand the importance of youth to any organization and we’re delighted to be able to help Drogheda Brass Band in this way,” said Tony.

The band’s School of Music has just begun its summer break, so the link-up with Kierans Motors comes at a timely moment, according to band spokesperson Brian Murphy.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Tony, Jim and the Kierans Motors team on board,” he said. “I’m showing my age now, but the first car I ever bought was off Tony when he was located in Tullyallen over 20 years ago. So to have this link-up now with the band is fantastic and continues that link between Tony and our members,”he said.

Tony’s grandfather George Kierans was a former president of the Drogheda Brass Band and he had a garage at lower Mell, Drogheda, where he began trading in the early 1960s.

“We’ll be putting Kierans Motors sponsorship to good use and are delighted to be associated with Kierans Motors in all our public performances,” added Brian.

The band will have its first engagement under the new Kierans Motors era on Sunday July 28th at 5pm when Glyn and Helen Williams of the world-famous Cory Band host the Summer Sounds 2024 concert in the Augustinian Church.
